Keeping Your Roof In Top Condition! |
| Your roof plays a very important role in protecting you and your family from the elements. Regular inspections by a NACHI certified inspector and maintenance can help you catch small problems before they turn into big problems. Preventive measures can save you the cost of major repair or even a complete roof replacement down the road. It is highly recommended that you have your roof inspected on a semi annual basis. To maximize the useful life of your roof, check the following: |
| |
Clean all debris from the surface of the roof, including debris that have gathered behind HVAC units, pipes and pitch pans. Leaves and other
roughage
have a tendency to hold water expediting roof deterioration. |
| |
Remove debris from gutters and downspouts to ensure adequate water drainage. |
|
Trim overhanging tree branches. |
|
Check caulking and sealants. Remove caulking that are weather damaged and cracked. Clean the area before applying fresh caulking. |
|
Check the bricks and mortar of the chimney. If cracked or signs of crumbling, you may want to hire a mason to repair it. |
|
Replace cracked or damaged shingles. Also check for shingles that may have become loose due to exposure to the elements. |
|
IMPORTANT! Use extreme care if you choose to inspect the roof yourself. Hiring a NACHI certified inspector is highly recommended. |
